Thsnks you for your come back....I've tested bergers with n 150 cci br2 excellent groups at 300 I was just wondering about getting some 2156 to try ...I've got under 3/8 of a minuet with a 5 shot group 4 times I've tested with bergers .....Berger recommends a 1:12 twist and the sierra is often shot with 1:13. In the same chamber the berger will have less bullet in the neck. BC edge goes to Berger and the Cost is better with Sierra. With all of my recent testing..... 300 yards and less (darn snow) I haven't seen a measurable accuracy difference. My barrels seem to like them both equally well.
Maybe we can get some of the big dawgs like Erud to comment on lot to lot changes. I just orders some bergers from multiple sources to see lot to lot changes.
I've got under 3/8 of a minuet
They're both 30 cal bullets, the Sierra has a sectional density of about 3.8% greater than the Berger. Accuracy will depend on your load, your rifle, your range conditions.
I get excellent accuracy with the Bergers and Varget in both 1-10 and 1-12 barrels. Lot to lot differences are huge in the Berger Fullbore, so much so that my 1-12 barrel, with its longer throat, will not work with my latest lot. Base to ogive is much shorter and I can't keep the bullet in the case at my preferred seating depth. Just something to be aware of.2156 serria vs 155.5 berger fullbore
OK..... have you tried the Serria 2156 ?I get excellent accuracy with the Bergers and Varget in both 1-10 and 1-12 barrels. NoOK..... have you tried the Serria 2156 ?
So have you tested the both of them?Great post, Coyote Bill!
OK mine is done with same reamer with kreiger 12 1/2 .....46.3 grains of n150 cci br2 primers 10 thou off the lands shoots great ....I picked up 200 2156 to try....I'll try it with my same load ....thank you for replying ...take care.I've shot both of theses bullets in the same match. I cant tell a clicks worth of difference in them in my Palma rifle with the same powder charge. I will tell you that the 2156 liked at least .040" of jump in my barrel. That's with 2013 Fullbore reamer and 12 twist Bartlein.
How? The Berger is 155.5 grains and the Sierra is 155.

3/8 of a minuet = 3/32 of a symphony. Not bad.
