Ken,

Get a paypal account!

It's linked to :

1) funds in your paypal account (from sales/deposits)
or
2) your bank account
or
3) a CC of your choosing.

Any bank holding funds to clear is -- 1960s. B of A, Wells Fargo, Citi, etc are sending deposits $ 24/7 X around the globe. in like 02 sec. 3 time zones per 24 hr day.
For a laugh, check revenues on most any banking institution per qtr. it's either staggering or very staggering. our deposit $ at work.

The float is great for banks, bad for many millions of folks.

And, altho paypal is - like facebook - pretty old tech for older folks. but oh so easy.

p.s. I did get your check in the mail - and all good.
Man of your word - thanks...

Paypal is essentially free & instantaneous. I use it almost every day.

I have sold & bought 10's of thousands here. Snipers' hide, also never 1 problem. I've sent expensive stuff prior to receiving funds. Golden rule deal. 15 yrs. not 1 problem. What sort of man will dishonor his reputation over a few dollars? 0.00% for me.

I accept checks on the forum and have never had a problem.

I no longer accept USPS money orders unless there is no other option. I currently have $600 worth of money orders in my wallet that have been there since last year. I hate the post office and currently our post office is closed for repairs. My bank will cash checks, but not money orders. Apparently there are stolen blank money orders out there.

Your local bank will deposit a USPS MO, if you have a checking account there. Absolutely no difference between depositing a personal check and a USPS money order
I never take the MO to the PO because they rarely have the funds to cover the MO amount.
Exactly how I cash my money orders, never have I tried cashing them through the post office.

I think I would look for a different bank! I cash money orders at 2 different banks with no issues.

Pay Pal is anti-gun. I will NEVER use pay pal period. If the seller won't take a personal check or US Postal money order, then I will buy the item elsewhere. And yes, I am of the age to be an AARP member, but I will NEVER join that "liberal" organization either.

Hello Bill. I reluctantly have a PayPal account and do accept payment through them. On higher priced items I'll do a layaway. I try to make paying for anything I offer for sale as easy as possible for the buyer. I've gotten over my boycott of all things progressive otherwise I'd have starved to death in a frozen ball by now. There's no way to avoid interacting in some way with financial institutions, retailers, utilities, schools, any government agency, medical services, etc. that won't in some way assault my personal belief system. It's just the way it is now. I tolerate more "diversity" (note I didn't say embrace) than in days past. Once I can figure out which public restroom to use, I can relax.

I prefer to send a personal check and understand that most sellers will wait for the check to clear. Some do not understand that it no longer takes days to clear checks, which are now cleared electronically. If I deposit a check in one of the three banks that I use, before 11:00 AM, I will see the funds posted as pending by 1:00 PM and they will clear later that day or at the most the following morning.

Back in the day, I built flight time as many pilots waiting to get on with the airlines, buy flying checks around that were going to clearing centers. Today that system is no longer need and young bird men and women have to find other ways to built time while making almost no money.

I do like the rating system on this forum covering members and their transactions and wish that more forums had that.

Bob

I can't believe the number of people on this forum that are intentionally using AND promoting the use of PayPal. Paypal is NOT a friend of the 2nd amendment. They are now teamed up with or supporting the Southern Poverty Law Center, an overtly anti-gun group.
Whether you leave money in a paypal account or not, paypal is making money off of transactions, they are using that money to support groups that would rather we not have guns.

Unfortunately in today's modern world, it's tough to completely stand on principal. For example, the Chinese communist government is anti-gun and communist so should we stop buying a phone, computer, ipad, laptop, flying on any commercial aircraft, buy anything made in China, use a credit card, the internet, GPS, cook on a stove, use a refrigerator, a washing machine, a dryer, a dishwasher, a microwave, a lightbulb, Christmas tree stuff, radio, drive ANY vehicle, wear only clothes made in the U.S.? Just about everything has parts made in communist or dictatorship led countries. Look at all the stuff coming from Vietnam. Anyone bought anything at Harbor Freight lately, 99% made in China. Even prescription, OTC drugs and supplements are produced there. I know most of us would prefer everything be made here but it's tough to be selective and a purist. Oh yeah, no credit cards but I take payment any form you are comfortable with including gold and silver. :D Never been burnt either.
Anyway, that's my 2¢. We now return you to our regular programming.:)

I haven't been able to find a single tech company that isn't liberal. Google has started sending me "news" updates on my phone, each a liberal slanted editorial. Twitter is overtly anticonservative.

Paypal makes nothing on a FF transfer.

Nice try at rationalizing the use of PayPal. The actions of the Chinese government on their own people has nothing to do with the Second Amendment rights of United States citizens. An American's choice of commercial product purchases from China or any other communist country has NOTHING to do with gun rights of Americans. PayPal is an American company that uses its financial success to diminish the gun rights of all Americans. Starting to understand the difference?

I completely agree with you about the difficulty we face buying only American products. You are correct about the hypocrisy of purchasing Chinese/ communist goods....but the OP was about payment for gun-related items, not washing machines. IMO, everyone has several/easy options to using PayPal, but everyone does not have several/easy options to the manufacturer-country of the goods we buy. And now we can get back to our regular programming.

For those on the anti-paypal bandwagon, the NRA takes PayPal for membership dues as does this site for donations.

https://membership.nra.org/Renew/Annuals

As my ol' man used to say "Don't cut your nose off to spite your face".
Are you trying to say that the NRA and AS are being completely honorable in accepting PayPal?? Or do you want people to believe that just because the NRA and AS accepts PayPal, that makes it OK for all gun owners to accept PayPal's hypocrisy?

You and I will never agree with this, and that is OK. Let's just agree to disagree.
All the popcorn is finished..I am out of this conversation.

Suggest you send your concerns to the NRA and the owners of this site, both of which take paypal. Additionally, ebay until recently owned paypal and still uses it for a form of payment. There are many firearm parts including barrels, reloading equipment and component, scopes etc. listed. I would further suggest they aren't anti-gun but are anti-liabiity and a lot of their bad ink is internet tripe. As I said, it's like cutting your nose off to spite your face.

I just posted a fact. Your mind is made up and so is mine. Let's leave it at that.

My $0.02. F- Pay Pal. Draw a line somewhere or you don't have one. If you can't trust most people on here you might also be afraid to step outside. Handling a paper check connects you with someone else in a way no sanitized electronic transaction can. There is a name, an address, a location far away, and a signature. It's personal. I am methodically eliminating my electronic transactions. Personal, US mail and a paper check with ink on it and a unique scrawl. Going to cash is next !! It's how the Creedmore creed is spread also !!

Edit: Seller or Trader history: I have made three transactions on this forum. I have a history of "0".

Also, I don't want another online web based business to have access to my Bank. Any online digital monetary transactions I run through American Express. So what some see as a blessing I see as anethma. To each his own.
