A very sad day. Kelbly discontinues Stocks - FTR alternatives?

22-09-10 10-46-52 8581.jpg

That's fully loaded with all hardware and inletting.

My whole gun, with Nightforce comp, joypod, heavy varmint 30 cal barrel = 17.2lbs

Ideal shape.... personal choice, but I want a flat bottom stock so it tracks straight. The Kelbly 1M is technically an Open stock.

If you don't mind waiting a while, Cerus rifleworks makes a killer ftr stock, and you can easily make weight.

They'll work. I said it in my previous comment, but I want a stiff long stock that's got a flat bottom so it tracks straight back.
I have a full carbon fiber I was running a 30” barrel. I used for a tournament series which was all shot prone. Shot many really good scores with it out to 1200 yards. I have seen then used very successfully in FTR. I’m sure it has collected some state and larger matches medals.

I heard a guy won the TSRA midrange championship this weekend with a T6A with a defiance action chamber in 223, then you got that guy over in Louisiana with that MPA that beats up on everyone in TR when he show’s up.

And Jimmy Hendrix played his guitar upside down and backwards. It ain't for everybody.
So it’s the musician and not the guitar ? ;-). Just kidding…

sorry you ask in the first post what else was out there. I may have misunderstood. It sounded like you didn’t like the stock based on specs. But maybe you already tried it? Anyway. Was just asking since I have used one in a prone match with very heavy barrel with no flex and fantastic accuracy. That and also as above I knew this FTR shooter mentioned by BP1 above was very successful with that stock in national and state matches. McMillan Kestros BR is another possibility for alternate. Cerus and Xring both make wood FTR stocks.

If you were local I would for sure bring out the manners stock for you to test. Not sure if mine is 6a or 2a..? Been a long time since I bought it.

I bummed a buddies 308 that is in a modified Cerus open stock for the LA match and I really liked it..at the end of the day if a stock is comfortable and tracks it doesn’t matter what it is. I shot my new to me PR&T stock at TSRA this past weekend and on Saturday tried zero shoulder pressure and no cheek pressure. Thing shot like a shotgun, and on Sunday I shouldered it and applied cheek pressure like I would with my Manners and it was a totally different gun.

Hmmm…. 10 months later and they have responded to neither email nor phone calls. In the mean time Dima shipped me one from a war zone.

when it’s finished and bedded I’ll let ya know on weight, right now it’s right at 4lbs
Don’t forget the “clone” or “stolen design” guy in Italy.

It took 17 months to get mine. A long time, but worth the wait.

I broke a stock last fall. I tried through email and phone calls to get through to Idaho between December and Feb before I contacted Dima. On the way back from SWN I found out Jim Borden was using Dima stocks now. I called Jim to see if I could get one from him, but all of his were inletted for his actions which did not work for me. Ordered from Dima 2 weeks before Russia invaded in Feb. My stock arrived from Ukraine last week. Communication was good throughout the process. Idaho has still never responded to phone or email contact attempts.

I met a fella at TSRA, David Brooks from Oklahoma that had some nice looking stocks he’s building, don’t know if any were TR stocks.
