A new take on Picatinny Scope Checkers

Are clamp bolts/cross lug bolts that ride in the picatinny slots going to have threads exposed, like in the pic's of the prototype, that will contact the rail, or are those going to be smooth cross lug bolts.? I have used items that had the threads exposed to the rail notch and it always ended up chewing up the rail and ended up with me tossing the item. Just a thought. Looks good otherwise, I'm just wondering because i'm thinking of ordering one, but that would change my mind. Good luck with the sales, it looks good.

Great question. I've had similar experiences. I am ordering longer bolts for the production units. Longer bolts will have a longer unthreaded portion. I have to cut them to proper length so that the contact area is on the unthreaded portion, yet it doesn't run out of thread length before tightening. I'll adjust the clamp thickness to make the fit up just right. It shouldn't rub when bolts are being tightened as the unthreaded portion is few thou larger in dia than the threaded portion.

Why not build a columnator. Will check your scope in more ways and does it inside with no ammo wasted. You can build a very nice one from an old telescope and some simple machining and lens purchase.

Because we have to test the scope how its used. Being fired on a rifle. Lack of real world testing may be the reason we are having so many poa issues?

Thanks for all of the pre-orders, everyone. I need about 7 more, then we'll probably shut her down until we have them in stock. Save $20 while you can!
