custom picatinny base?

I've got a Browning BBR rifle, built in 1978, that I would like to have a picatinny scope rail for. The mount that came with it (and that you can still buy from MGW) is a single piece that uses the Leupold "turn-in" style rings. While it's always been great, I like to remove my scopes in the safe and I also like to use the same scope on multiple rifles.

I know there's the whole "don't fix it if it ain't broke" deal out there, but the one scope I use is pretty expensive so buying a second is a non-option right now now. Plus, it works for me to swap it between rifles as I keep detailed records on adjustments from true zero.

So, I'm wondering if anyone knows a place or person who can manufacture a picatinny (mil-spec) 10MOA rail for me, using the original scope base as a reference. I can remove it and send it to you to use as a model.

If you have a gunsmith near you,have him order picatinny rail stock and have it contoured and the screw holes put in properly. He or you can get it from brownells and midway.
