A list of my ACKLEYs what are Ackleys do you like ?

I really don't see the point of ANY AI unless it is just for amusement because you have run out of interesting projects.
For the most part there is always a larger capacity cartridge in existence if you think you have to go faster. Going faster or claiming more efficiency is about all you get for a rechambered rifle and an expensive set of dies.
I do see the point in my .280AI. Im getting 7mm mag ballistics without all the powder and having a belted magnum. My rifle is only 7.5 pounds with a 3.5x18 scope. I no what you are saying apples to apples but us boys enjoy our toys

My 260ai is only a 27" with a .060" freebore and it runs 2920 with 140s. Are the 150s that much slower or are you running a node down from the top?
Not looking for speed just accuracy. I wanted to be above 2800 fps and accurate (for F class midrange). This was the node I found and stuck with it. I have pushed the 150s faster but when I found this sweet spot, I stuck with it.

Ok after reading all listed Ackley cartridges , what one would you pick for a f class project ?
I can't take much recoil anymore so let's say 7mm being the max .
Thanks .
My 1000yd gun is going to be a 6.5x55ai. I’m really hoping to shoot the Sierra 150SMKs @2950fps. I bought my barrel when I was in Phoenix for the Berger SW Nationals off Earl L. in the parking lot while drinking a beer.

I have several common ones, but the latest is a little different and very efficient, 6.5-257AI. Use a lot of the smaller cal. ones for PDs, allowing many neck sizings before FL and trimming.
Have a couple of these (40 deg). Built first one about 5 years ago. Bad news for mule deer & whiteys. Similar case capacity & ballistics to 6.5/284. Mine love 140 Nosler ballistic tips & 140 accubonds. 257 Bob brass is hard to find at times & leaves necks short. Lately have been using 8mm mauser brass. But have formed a lot from .270, 25-06 & 30-06 brass.
By far my favorite AI but I also have three 257 Bob AI 40deg which all a close rivals to my 25-06s.

If it were me, I have used the 260AI for F-Class successfully. The other choice for me would be the 6.5x55AI, it is faster than the 260 by 100+FPS on the AI version.

Currently, I run 2 6.5’s for F-Class, the 6.5x47 Lapua and 264WM.

Cheers.
:)

The only true AI that I have is a 14" barrel for my T/C Contender in 30-30AI. 125 Nosler BT averaging 2670 fps with sub MOA accuracy is a deer hammer.

I have another 14" Contender barrel that I got in a package deal with a frame and 3 barrels and loading dies, cases etc. in an estate sale. This one is the 225 Winchester case necked up to 6mm and when fire formed it has an AI shoulder.
Will average 2800 fps with 80 gr Sierra SSP bullet and sub MOA accuracy. It has a slow twist barrel and does not like any bullet over 80 grs. I did not care for the terminal effects of the Sierra SSP on deer. It really came apart and would not exit and deer would run off a ways and leave little to no blood trail. I picked up some 85 Nosler partitions to give a try in it but never did because I got the 30-30AI and it became my main deer pistol.
I have no clue who made this 6mm-225 barrel and there are no markings on it at all. The fellow that died that had this set also had a BUNCH of other rifles and Contender pistols and barrels and most of them were wildcats that he had some quality gun smiths build. I also got a Ruger 77 rifle with a bull barrel of unknown make and no markings as to caliber on it that is a 30x47 (300 Savage case with shoulder pushed back 10 thousands inch) that had some paper work with it showing a special throating being done to improve accuracy with cast bullets. I have some targets and documentation of loads tested using cast bullets. This rifle will shoot about any bullet you put into it bug holes. I have killed a bunch of deer with this rifle using 125 BTs, 150 Sierra Game King, 155 Berger VLDs. It is so accurate you could eye ball shoot a deer if you wanted to.
