A list of my ACKLEYs what are Ackleys do you like ?

17 Ackley Hornet
223 AI
22/250 AI
6-250 AI
6 Remington AI
243 AI
7/08 Ai
280 AI

All are awesome to say the least!

For coyotes, my favorite is a 12T, 25" zero freebore shooting the 55's at 4050. Second favorite coyote caliber would be a 6 Rem AI, 26" 12T or better yet a 14T shooting the 70g at 4000-4100. Sierra Blitz kings are money in the bank when it comes to consistency and they are explosive giving humane kills.

For p.dogs, I could not leave home without a couple of the 223 AI's with 50's shooting bug holes at 3850 with only 28g of H335.

I had one 6.5 Remington Mag AI, 29" twisted for 85g Sierra, slow twist, and short freebore to match, no one would believe the velocity with accuracy that is attainable with this case. A friend watched me shooting mini clay pigeons at 550 yards and bought the whole outfit including reamer on the spot. I built this rifle for launching Rock chucks, never got the chance.

I have several common ones, but the latest is a little different and very efficient, 6.5-257AI. Use a lot of the smaller cal. ones for PDs, allowing many neck sizings before FL and trimming.

I've got 22/250ai, 250ai, and 257ai. Killed many, many yotes with 22/250ai. 257ai has bout 10 hogs to its credit and 250ai is just to pretty to hunt with so killed lots of paper I'm not smart enough to post pics of my phone or I would

Just 3
22-250AI
250 AI
30-30AI the

P.O. said both 250 and 30-30 were two of the "Most Improved" as far as Improvement over their Parent Cartridges

Also K-Hornet and Mashburn Bee not P.O's design butt close

Have two 7-06 AI's, pre 280 Remington. The first is my favorite hunting rifle on an FN action. The second, described to me as a bull gun, also on an FN action. Traded a 35 Brown-Whelen on a Springfield action. It just kicked to hard. Lastly a 6BRA from Alex. All are a form of Ackley Improved cartridges.

.223AI chambered with a zero freebore reamer......simply a tack driving cartridge with a slow twist barrel, light bullets and N133. Spins the 2" metal spinner target at 300yd's with boring regularity. Really do enjoy the .223AI.....cheap, fun, fast, accurate and deadly on varmints.

My first one and only was a .220 Swift AI. It was crazy accurate and an absolute laser on PD's. Accuracy started to slip at about 1200 rounds so I had the barrel cut way off and had it rechambered to .22BR. 800 rounds later it will still shoot an occasional .3 but I sometimes miss that Swift AI.

8mm/06 Ackley Improved 40° on a Mauser 98 with 26" Shilen barrel. On its 2nd barrel, both cut with same reamer (consistent 3/4 inch shooter). Good for any North American game with modern bullets out to around 350 - 400 yards. Have had this poor man's magnum for nearly 35 years.
6.5x55 Ackley Improved 40° on a 1976 Savage 112V single shot action (formerly .220 Swift) with 28" Shilen heavy varmint barrel. Shoots consistent .4" - .5" so far. Rifle weighs 14 lbs. (my only paper puncher) and is still in the load development stage. Want to eventually take it out to 600 yds +.
7x57 Ackley Improved 40° on a Mauser 98 with 24" Douglas barrel. Rifle is not quite finished yet but should be an excellent deer rifle at any reasonable distance. Love em all; good velocity, accurate, easy on brass and very little trimming.
