Hart 1-8 ?

I have a 1:9 20cal Hart that shoots VERY well. I wouldn't hesitate to order a Hart if I found a 6mm 1:8 twist 31" HV contour blank ready to ship. They've set plenty of records in SR BR too. I bet it'd shoot.

I've had 1 Bartlein and many Kreigers that never let me down. Truth be told, I look for a Kreiger first, then the others but availability is king for me - I have no brand loyalty if another premium brand is in stock, ready to ship.

So far, I am a little surprised at the lack of button rifled barrels appearing on the list. Lilja is the only one that I see so far. I know that many are trying and getting great results from ABC, Hart, Shilen, Broughton, Mullerworks, and other button rifled barrels. Also, James Lederer is making inroads with his excellent cut rifled barrels. With the preference for cut rifled barrels, are we a "monkey see, monkey do" type of sport or has the cut rifled barrels proven to be best with the 6 BRA? This survey is NOT intended to offend anyone for their choice...since I have been beaten by almost every brand listed above. Good shooting....James

To throw a wrench in to the common thought, steel is the the most important part of a barrel. Buttons are stress relieved, cuts rely on the steel being stress free from the mill...

Best barrel I have ever had is a Shilen select match 8 twist. When you get a good barrel, you get a good barrel. When you get a turd, Well....

Actually I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Wisconsin guys.
