Ruger LC9s. Has a manual safety, feeds hardball and numerous factory and hand loaded hollow points without a problem. (judged by the one I am familiar with)

Which do you favor, size or capacity? The Glock 19 is used by many. It has a 15 round double stack magazine and always goes bang. The Glock 43 suggested is easier to conceal and can be a pocket pistol, but you sacrifice 9 rounds of fire capacity. And while the 9mm has very mild recoil, the very small grip of the 43 may reduce your control.

If you like the smaller, the M&P 9 Shield is another option. With the EZ option, it is very easy to rack for those with less hand strength.

Kahr PM 9 been carrying one for nearly 17-18-years now. approved backup and off-duty pistol for the NYPD
in a IWB holster or pocket holster has a nearly zero print, I sometimes forget I have it with me.
