9mm hand gun for Concealed Carry?

I carry a plastic CZ p10s. A bit “fancy “ for a plastic gun but it’s stone-axe reliable, has a great trigger and ergonomics, and holds 12+1. If if it’s confiscated, they’re making dozens more every day. It was under my $500 cap with room to spare.

There’s another aspect of prioritizing “cheap and reliable” in a carry gun. If you ever end up using it for its intended purpose, there’s a good chance you’ll have it taken from you for a long time and might never get it back.
You gonna trust that fancy custom 1911 to the vagaries of evidence lockers and police inventory for possibly years?
Don’t do it. Buy the cheaper option that still earns your trust.

My daughter mentioned she wanted a hand gun for Christmas. After a little research I picked up the Hellcat. Also got her a Blackhawk Serpa holster which is what I use for my XD and love it.
