I have a partner that shoots them in his all the time. He prefers them over the Bergers. And has shown evidence that the 95gr Precision ballistics 95gr HPBT Match bullets may even be more accurate than the SMK's. His barrel is a 1-9twist. WD
I did a preliminary test in the summer of 2011. just looked at that info last week when I was home and it looked like 28 to 29gr of XBR8208 shot sub 1/2MOA and started ot open up as I went up past 30gr. Wasnt real fast but shot real well at those lower speeds. 95gr SMK ( great looking bullet)
1:8 Twist barltein heavy Palma 30" long on a Big horn action. Norma Brass, CCI 450 primer. Dont recall the seating depth.
Nice light load super easy on brass im betting and as accuarate as Ill ever need for that bullet to be in Prone with a sling.
At equal pressure in the same cartridge, higher B.C. bullets will perform better in the wind. The Berger 105 Hybrid has a short bearing surface, high B.C. and is very accurate. Tough combination to beat. [br]
Attached: 20 shots @ 300 yards from prone, F-Open Mid Range gun, switching headwind, no flags. 2930-2940 fps from 30" with H4895. [br]
Caveat is that it requires an 8" twist or faster.
