9 twist .223 target/Long range bullet?

My Savage factory bull barrel 1/9 .223 shoots the 75 A-Max very well with Varget. If you're looking for a PD round with some splat, check out the Hornady 53 V-Max. Has a better BC than the 55's and you can move it faster than the heavier ones.

I'll probably try the 75g AMAX but it's going to be hard to top this load.

Berger 73 gr HPBT (non VLD) shoot awesome in my 1 in 9 twist Criterion barrel on a Savage action. 1/4' groups @ 100 yds when everything is right. the 69 SMK's also do well. did not have much luck with Hornady 68 gr or 75 gr bullets

Just start with heavier load and find whats most accurate. I was surprised that my 69gr SMK's shot better then my 75gr and 77gr loads. I've got 69 SMK out 700 yards so far. Go transonic about 775 area. May try and stretch out just to see capabilities.

H4895 and 75 grain AMAX's 24.4-24.7 seems to be a node in my savage but I need to do some seating depth tuning. Using the CCI 450 primers they don't flow into the firing pin like the BR 4's

Looks promising, I used the h4895 because in the book it showed the most speed of the powders I had on hand.
