,Hey 6BR,WHAT A GREAT SIGHT). MY NAME IS CLINT WINTERS,i am from GEORGIA.i visit here every day and thought folks here could appreciate my accomplishment.my dad has made shots on deer and elk beyond 600yards.he is my hero, best hunter i know, best at anything to tell you the truth.so i set out to better my hero .to do that i needed a real accurate rifle,so I had a remington customized by kampeld custom, in a 284 wichester,SAME CALIBER AS MY DADS.light palma contour,1-10twist,140 nosler bt vv160 has shot sub 2 inch groups at 600yds 5 shot),3 inch 10shot)i went up to my farm and and cut a shooting lane 1000 yards long,i done a lot of practicing before hunting season.as soon as rifle season came in i started hunting in that stand.i had already ranged all distaces ahead of time.it was not long before i had a deer step out at 800yards.i turned my scope so that i could aim dead on.the deer was 1/4ING away so i aimed at the off side front leg,and sqeezed it off.as soon as the gun recioled i put it right back on the deer.i actual saw the impact.the deer jumped and bucked, then ran out of my scope.then i heard a thump, impact).took 1 second to get there, and about 2 seconds for the impact sound to come back to me.i was os exited,i knew he was hit.i drove down there and found where his running tract was.but no blood.that worried me a little.i started following the tracts and scanning the woods in front of me.i looked and there she was .i walked up and was pleased to see it was a perfect shot .went in behind the ribs and exited behind the shoulder on the other side,i was so happy .it was more than twice the distance of any of my other kills.i was so thrilled,a could not wate to tell my dad.he was happy for me.but i was not done yet,i had another deer come out at 820yds a few days later,i shot that deer as well same result.i am 2 for 2 at super long range.i feel fortunate to have a place to atempt such a shot.my gool is to make a 1000yd kill, which i feel real confident i will when the opportunity comes.thanks for reading my story, and puttimg up with the bad type.
