My son Brandon shot this button buck within half hour of getting in blind. Brandon’s shot was right around 100 yds and it was bang flop! Load is 5744 and a Hornady 265 gr FP. His shot hit high that severed the spine. He has finals at college this week and has been studying so hard. He wasn’t going to go out today but decided to take a little break and go out for a couple of hours.
He’s been going to this really small church 5 minutes from his college for the past two years and a retired widow lady is letting 5 of them hunt her 40 acres.
When I arrived to help get the deer out of the woods Brandon said Dad I want to give Back and I’m going to give this deer to PJ for letting me hunt here!!! We dropped the deer off at a butcher and Brandon paid for it. This is the 10’th deer Brandon has shot and he was so exited because he was giving it to the land owner! Kid makes me proud of him!
