I am about to start Coyote hunting on my friends property. I am looking for a bullet for my Savage 7mm08 that will be setup for Coyote hunting only. It has a 22" barrel with a 1 in 9.5 twist. I originally bought the rifle for deer but ended up with the same caliber in a Tikka. I have the Tikka setup as my treestand deer rifle with 140g sierra pro-hunters.
I will not save pelts, this rifle will be to eradicate them from the property. Shots will be @ 200-300 yards 99% of the time. I have an AR-15 and a shotgun for close range 100 yard shots.
What bullet would you guys recommend me looking at and what grain. I see the Sierra 100gr HP, Speer 110gr TNT are both labeled as Varmint bullets with @ 3000 fps. Or, would a 120g bullet be more ideal?
