R26 or N565 would be my first choices. What is best powder for highest velocity with Berger 184 Hybrid bullets?
I concur.I got almost 3000 fps with 184s and N560 in a 30-inch 284. Accuracy was stellar as well. That or N565 should be at or near the top on velocity. My only issue with them was they burn HOT and not good candidates for high rate of fire match shooting.
H1000 was my favourite powder but we can no longer get it in the UK..In the hunting guns I ran H1000 and got 2960fps out of 26" barrels with 180s.
I did a barrels worth of testing with the 7saum several years back. RL26 gave me the best velocity and accuracy but I did have to adjust for temp shifts. The spread sheet was a pressure test ran at 52 degrees. I had to adjust the loads down for the groups shot (200yds) at 75 degrees, so thought posting both would give you a good idea of the temp sensitivity. What is best powder for highest velocity with Berger 184 Hybrid bullets?

My 7mm 270 was awesome on 67.8grs of H1000 behind a 180gr hybrid. I was the same with the 195gr elite hunters aswellThis is funny. I've tried H1000 in a couple of applications and never
found a good load.
RL23 has always been a good powder for me on certain loads.
Lucky I bought enough back when it was cheaper to last me a bit.
My definition of good load would be SD in the mid single digits and .25 MOA or less. I found a couple of nodes with H1000 and still very low pressure. I found a couple of nodes with H4831 in that range as well. I'll bet that I could find similar loads with Accurate powders as well as with Vihtavuori. I have the Hodgden powders and some small amounts of Vihtavuori that would be worth trying. The only thing I have in Alliant powder is 2400 and Unique. Lots of Unique but I use it for 45 ACP and 28 gauge loads for the sporting clay range. One can burn a barrel and empty a wallet trying everything one can get their hands on but to what purpose when you already have a couple of choices in hand. This is funny.
