7mm mauser ammo

does anybody know where a guy can go to get surplus military 7mm Mauser ammo? I found several old postings but nothing current. all I want it for is components .. In the the one posting it went for 10 cents a round,... is this something I need to hit up the local gun shows?

What good would it be for components? All of the surplus European ammo I ever shot was berdan primed. Most was steel cased and corrosive. Buy some PPU cases and get American powder bullets and primers.

well i want the 7mm 140gr FMJ bullet .. I currently have the 174 gr FMJ bullet and just love it out of my 280 Remington..but the recoil gets to ya after a while so I want to bump down to the 140's and this is the easiest way of procuring the bullet

shooters pro shop has nosler ballistic tip 140 gr blems for $16 per 50, plus 10% off if you order over $100 till Friday.
grafs has speer and privi 140 gr bullets for $20 per 100

Look around Im sure you can find cheaper than that.

All the surplus 7mm mauser ammo dried up years ago and to be honest was not that great anyway.

yeah I wondered about that but I really wanted to try the 140 FMJ because of how well the 174gr fmj prvi shot.. but you cant argue with economics

You can try Speer 130 gr soft point. Brownells has them for $ 19 for 100pcs. Speer also has a 20% mail in rebate if you spend $ 100 or more. So if you buy 6 boxes (600 bullets) at $ 19 per box = $ 114... after the mail in rebate you'll get back $ 22, giving you a final cost of $ 92 + shipping for 600 bullets. Which is around 15 cents per head.

That's just 1 option among many.

Graf & Sons also sells the speer bullets for a little bit less than brownells and the rebate also applies. and they also have the PRVI 120 140 150 & 174 gr bullets for about 24 cents per head.
