Hello ammo question

Hello new to this board.
so I have a Spanish Mauser 1916
I bought some ammo at the type of purchase
I think it was classic firearms.
Old military stuff, 7x57 Mauser 7mm, but when I looked recently (2 years later after purchase lol ) I noticed an interesting head stamp and outside box in the ammo “banderillero”
My take on this is that some factory took a 30 Springfield 30.06 and resized it to 7mm 7x57
The bullet is 163 gr
3rd pic is the round in question next to a 308
Head stamp has 6 45 R stars
Some are in pretty tarnished shape, little polish and they seem fine.

Good point, I guess I’m looking for any information? Has anyone ever seen this, another company remake a 30.06? And am I correct in my hypothesis? Is this really 7x57? Does anyone know this head stamp? I have measured this round and compared it to my reloading manuals, it appears to be spot on for a 7mm Mauser

Right, why use the box? Why use a 30.06? It really is a mystery. I would have never know unless I pulled the box out of the banderillero, simple cloth. I’ll post a pic of that tomorrow.

While testing the Ammo in the rifle I accidentally jammed the round forcing the bullet in to the case. This caused a split in the neck. So I pulled the bullet and checked the powder, large cylinder powder. I’ll post some pics.

Thank you! Interesting, so is it possible they just used the box from 1903 Springfield ammo? So maybe they did not use the donor cartridge of 30.06.
I looked a lot for this head stamp lol

The stamp on the box that is on top of the label on the box says "Reconstruido" probably means reconstructed rebuilt reloaded in some spanish dialect. probably just used what they had

Why? Mauser 7mm is not a bad round. Shoots very flat and pretty low recoil. Most used round around the world to hunt. I know they are old but why not just shoot them lol
