7mm 190gr A tip

This is an Old post but don’t really see any new ones?

How is the 190’s performing? Any specific jumps that you have found them to perform better?

I have shot just over 1980 of the 190 A tips and not a single blow up, running them in the 2890-2930 range.

I have shot fewer than that, but still a significant number of them, but not as many lately. I have not had one blow up. These and the 250’s group their best for me when seated deep, body past the neck shoulder junction, and jumped significantly. Interestingly, in Hornady’s regular podcasts, there is a large illustration of a cutaway of a rifle cartridge, and sure enough the body is well below that junction in their cutaway, and indeed that’s where they work best for me, despite donut conceptions.

This is true of several A-Tip calibers I have shot, in chambers cut with SAMMI spec reamers, without additional throating. This is not how I load hybrid target bullets or others, in the same barrels. Those bullets will have comparatively, much more bearing surface protruding in front of the neck.
