7-6.5 PRC WITH 190gr BERGER HYBRIDS

I know 2 shooters a that both tried the 190 Berger. One a Master the other a very High, High Master. Both referred to the 190’s as “Kites” in the wind..

I'm only familiar with the 3 I listed because I live in F-Class world. Those 3 bullets, if they were any good, they would be dominating.

Thanks for all the input gents. As stated above, any advantage a bullet can contribute to your score, even if it's one point in a match is still an advantage. The 190 Bergers look great on paper and mabee in the future, I'll have more time to work with them. I know some guys were and may still be shooting the 195 Berger Hunters in F Class. Time will tell if the 190's come around. The 7-6.5 is based on what most would call a "Magnum" case for a short action and as Mr. Wheeler stated, I have not seen any pressure signs with any of the loads I have tested thus far. Note that all these loads appear to be safe in my setup, please make sure to start low and work your way up. In my opinion, the advantage to this case, if not the ability to shoot heavier bullets (at least not yet) is the additional velocity gain over the .284. Shooting the 7-6.5 with 180 Bergers 150 fps faster than the .284 will give you about a 3 inch advantage in a 10 mph full value wind. That's certainly more than enough to keep a couple of shots from leaking into the 9 ring.

@SST2500 Anyone who has tried to get the 190 hybrids to shoot as well as a 180 or 184 hybrid knows what caused your fliers. Been there, done that, have the scars. I had one barrel out of 5 tried that shot the 190 hybrid and Atip exceptionally well but still would get an occasional WTF flier. Like Aaron said… there is a reason that the 180 hybrid at a reasonable velocity wins most LR matches….like the current Euro F class champs.
