My die will pass a Ø.319" gauge pin but not a Ø.320". So, I guess there is some variance. My chamber is Ø.314".The Redding I got, I had to open it up a few thousandth.
I'm using a .317 neck for my chamber reamer.
This is enough for me and im pushing 2900 with my 7 PRCW.. barrel life should be better also due to better combustion from a smaller case.only advantage might be ease of finding brass for the PRC's.
Great shooting regardless of caliber!I'm running mine at 2,945 and shes definitely in a node.
Lapua brass & 180 hybrids.
I don’t think you’d find much of a barrel life difference, probably some advantage for 7/6.5prc if running N165 (which it’s case capacity does fit that powder well) and 7PRC has more case capacity than saum so definitely no advantage there. Is there much of an advantage to changing from my 7 SAUM over to either the 7 PRC or 6.5/7 PRC? I'm shooting my SAUM at around 2925 with 180 class bullets and getting great accuracy until the barrel goes South. F-Open HM shooter. Is there reason to think I'd get better barrel life with either of the other two cartridges shooting at similar speeds? It seems that the only advantage might be ease of finding brass for the PRC's.
Thanks for any comments.
Im only commenting on my experience with the 7PRCW part of your question. I think you will like this combination better for barrel life.to either the 7 PRC or 6.5/7 PRC? I'm
Look at the title of the thread…I think you are talking about the 6.5/7PRC. I was talking about the new straight 7 PRC compared to the 7 SAUM.
My reamer is setup for a SA repeaterWould this round ever make in a repeating rifle?
7FCP is different. Is this cartridge the same as the 7fcp on this forum or is this just a 6.5prc with a 7mm bullet ?
The 7 PRCW is a 6.5 PRC with a 7mm bullet. Same 30 deg shoulder angle as the 6.5 PRC and headspaces the same.Is this cartridge the same as the 7fcp on this forum or is this just a 6.5prc with a 7mm bullet ?
