7-08 long range predator hunting load.

I am shooting a Remington 700 XCR in 7-08 remington, rifle has a 1 in 9 1/4 twist. I am looking for a good long range predator load, something that will reach out there as far as 700 yards. I wouldnt push it that far for deer but coyotes, bobcats, cougar are not that thick skinned.

150 gr. SMK's and Varget!

That's interesting because that's the exact combo I'm going to try working up next!

The 150 in the 708 should be the duplicate of the 308 168 smk. The Sierra book say's RL15 to be the most accurate powder used for that bullet. But I live in MN and want the relative Temp insensitivity of the Varget, they are after all nearly identical in burn rate,

That's what I used when I started competing F-Class out of a Remington 700 LVSF with 22" bbl. I used it for 500 yard competition, it was very accurate with that load!
