7-08 and Varget?

I know a lot of guys like and use Varget...but I have never been able to get good results with it in anything, and it's not for lack of trying. Last week I finished a #1 contour Pac-nor on a 700. I tried Varget and it sprayed all over the paper...as did 4166 and N140. Then I tried some 4451, 46.0 grains to be exact and it put 140 grain Ballistic tips in the same hole. Very happy now.
I wish one of you guys that is in love with Varget lived near me...I'd make you a deal on an 8 pound jug.

I moved on from Varget with my 7-08. These days I run 2000MR and 140s. Gives me a comfortable 2900+fps

Used to use N550 with the SIE 150s.. shot great at 600.. like a laser beam.. so i was told

40 grn varget 140 grn nosler bt and br2 primer spell bad luck for deer in 7 mm -08.

Yeah mate I'm using the same load in my Tikka and my group has 4 rounds touching the same hole at 100 yards.

I had a 26" barrel 7-08 I shot for "stand hunting" in Texas. I used to use the 139 Hornady Interlock. I put 48.0grs of H4350 in there. It was not only the most accurate load I ever shot out of a hunting rifle, it sent those 139's out at 3007f.p.s.! It was as lethal of a Deer rifle as I had ever used. I wonder now, had we had RL-16 back then, what the velocities may have been! WOW!

I had good loads for 140 grain bullets using IMR 4064
Wondering what powder works Good with 120 grain bullets?
