I just happen to have a Savage with a CBI barrel in 6br. Maybe someday I'll wear it out...22xc is basically equally awesome.

All I need is the vise and the action wrench, maybe some gauges. I've done a terrible job of taking the time to shoot my rifles. I even have a 200 yard range and made myself a concrete shooting bench at our house...Life is short. Why wait? 5 minutes to swap a barrel.
Like I like to say, I try to provide barrels at a price that you don't have to get married to them.

what twist in your two rifles?I started using one for prone competition. Like it so much that I built a hunting rifle in 6xc. Silly accurate and low recoil.
My prone gun is a 1:7.5 and the hunter is 1:9what twist in your two rifles?
My 1-7.5 Twist Rifle shoots everything Between the 80 gr. FB Berg. and 108 grain, Bullet's,.. very Well,..My prone gun is a 1:7.5 and the hunter is 1:9
Yep. That's why I went with the 1:9 on my hunting rifle. Shoot everything from 58s up through the 100s.My 1-7.5 Twist Rifle shoots everything Between the 80 gr. FB Berg. and 108 grain, Bullet's,.. very Well,..
But sometimes. I Wish that, I Had, a 1-9 or, 1-10 twist Rifle to, use for strictly, smaller Varmints / Targets with, 60, to 75 gr., Sierra/ Berger's & V-Maxes, etc. ( Stuck with, my .22-250 for, Now ) LOL !
The xc2 is a touch larger at the base, and is intended for brass formed from 308 brassI like the 1-8 for everything. I shot 65 V max to the 105 HVLD. I had a reduced load with a 65 V max at 1,500 fps for squirrel hunting. It was a lot of too much Rifle for that. I use a 223 with a 42 gr Calhoon at 2,500 FPS now or a 22LR. I settled for the 105 HVLD for everything big and small. I don’t have to mess around with different loads except when low on RL17 and I have to use H4350.
I had GREAT success with a 115 HVLD in a full 1-7 twist. Quite impressive. Even shot some 105’s in it. It short small testing saw no difference but I expect there was. I sold the 1-7 to a guy in Texas. He was so happy with it he called and wanted all the specs ect so a few of his buddies could build one exactly like it. That actually was what was called the 6XC II chamber. I was under the understanding it was based off a dimension that D Tubb was using. It was a little bigger neck dia and a longer free bore. I saw no difference in it between my tight chamber that I had to my specs. Although I was able to push the 115 HVLD to 3,150 fps with RL26 with incredible accuracy and case life.

In the infancy of the 6xc, there was no consistent supply of norma xc brass. Most formed brass from 22-250 brass, which was the original parent case. Some guys started forming brass from 243 and 308 brass. This lead to clickers and stuck cases, as the brass would be too tight at the base. This led to the revised 6xc2 reamer, which alleviates the problem.Well I have heard some controversy over the 6XC II chamber. I actually know nothing about it. There was a good article that used to be on 6mmar.com. It was how the chamber was developed. None of this information is available anymore , that I can find anywhere. I was under the understanding that the dimensions were developed by D Tubbs. It was an advancement of trial and error and dimensions that he felt worked better. I remember nothing about 308 brass. So after reading that article being I had a 6XC with a min clearance chamber that I spec’d to what I wanted. This 6XC II chamber was completely in the opposite direction but I figured if D Tubb was using it I was game to try it. I bought the reamer dies ordered a 7 twist and headed to my favorite smith. This is all I know of it. I will tell you I shot nothing but Norma XC brass and 115 HVLD’s It worked exactly as the article stated. I really honestly saw not much difference in my tight chamber other than it was a little bigger.
I have talked to D Tubb on the phone I’ve bought brass and bullets from him and at that time I don’t think we talked about that chamber. I did see he had some reamers on his site. I know I have 500 DTAC’s bullets I’d like to start shooting. I know D Tubb has posted on here before. So IDK but it seemed to me. To my knowledge what everyone thinks the 6XC II chamber is. Is not what it was when it came out and I chambered that barrel. My guess 10-12 years ago.
Plus to make 6XC from 308 brass is way too much work. Takes forever. After all the cutting. Expanding. Neck turning. Fire forming. Then they all need annealed or they split next firing. So yea I doubt it had anything to do with 308 brass.
A lot of what you seek is in this document written by Tubb.Well I have heard some controversy over the 6XC II chamber. I actually know nothing about it.
