6XC

Funny. My buddy has been shooting his old Remington brass he had in bags in his Tubb chamber and they fireform just fine.
I didn't say they wouldn't fireform. I said 22-250 brass is considerably smaller than Peterson 6XC, and that I thought it was too small and dont want to expand it that much. Perhaps I wasnt thorough enough explaining.. My understanding is that the XC was originally done off 22-250 brass. Then Tubb did a version II reamer for Peterson XC brass. (after it came out? Or developed with Tubb?). Now maybe 22- 250 brass would work in my chamber, but I think it's too small and am not gonna do it. That Peterson stuff is noticeably larger, strong, and just excellent. Works perfect and I don't mind paying 70 cents per case for really good brass.

Tubb never had anything to do with the II chamber. Always been the same. 22-250 works fine fireformed to 6xc TUBB.

Everything else you said is essentially correct.

I have formed over 10000 22-250 cases to 6XC without any problems. I use Tubbs reamer design.
I Had, a MISERABLE "experience", using Win / Rem .22-250 Brass and "trying" to make, 6 XC Brass !
Don't Know Why ?? don't Care !,.. But, after, a Few tries,.. into the Trash, they went !
I Bought, 200 Norma 6 XC Brass at the SAME Time that I Bought, the Rem 700 Action, from Bruno's in 2021
Tubb Version ONE, Chamber, Norma Brass and Forster Dies, WAS, the EZ Button for Me !

Many people freak out about the bulge at the body shoulder junction that shows up a lot of times. It blows out on the first firing with no long term effects, ime. I use a Dillon 650 for case prep. Station 1 has a tapered mandrel to open the neck. The first form die in station 2 is a cut down 243 die to start moving the shoulder. This minimizes or eliminates the bulge. Station 3 Tubb full length sizing die. Because I can, station 4 is a neck mandrel to set neck tension. I initially just used the Tubb die.

Great to see all the love for the little 6. It's the most fun caliber I shoot. I have a Tubb 2K that I have two 6XC barrels for one's a 7 twist and shoots 115 DTAC's and VLD lights out. I have a light weight custom built with a 7 twist that I hunt with shoots 115 VLD's incredible, have shot dozens of Axis and whitetail with her. Have another custom 8 twist I shoot steel with weekly. I have never had anyone shoot one of my little 6's that didn't want one. I also have a custom 6mm BR, 6mm PPC, 6mm Rem AI, a 6mm Creed and a 6mm Rem. By far the little 6XC is the jewel of the bunch.

Good shooting and keep the 6XC going

I built mine on a Blaser R93 platform. It has a 8" twist Krieger barrel, 20" long and is a near zero recoil rifle with the suppressor attached. I'm shooting 70gr Blitzkings at 3100fps and it is a coyote killer.
