1 in 10" twist with 6XC

Gent I shoot with has reamer for the 6XC that I can use to chamber a barrel for it. Any thoughts on how the 6XC would perform in a 1 in 10" twist barrel?

I would think that the 1X10 twist would be best suited for 90gr and lighter bullets

In about 4-6 weeks I'll be able to tell ya. I have a buddy who has one that just plain shoots. His is a 12 twist, I have a 9 twist target rifle that shoots just fine, and I have a 10 twist Stainless steel Lilja in a sporter barrel ordered.

I'm going to use it for some Chucks, Crows, and coyotes and utilize the 75gr Vmax in it. Might as well fireform and use the newest and oldest brass in it and keep the prime stuff for the target rifle. WD

Wyle, my rifle is an 8 twist. Do you have a favorite powder and load range for 80 to 90 gr bullets in the XC that you would be willing to share?

In my 9 twist barrel, I'm using 41gr of R-17 in Norma cases for the 80's. I worked up to that VERY carefully. There don't seem to be any issues with pressure either visually on the primers, or with bolt lift or anything. But again, I worked up to that very carefully.

I use 95's on occasion and depending upon the weather I use from 38-40gr of R-17.

Results in your rifle may vary so be careful for heaven's sake. WD
