6XC Powder alternative

I would give a real hard look to R23.

That's at 38 grains.

Another vote for VV160. I'm using it with 115gr Dtacs but in a 6x47 Lapua. 41grs is giving me 3065avg with 5fps es.

H-4831sc should work nicely in the 6xc with 105-115 grainers.

Going back to the OP's original post and mine subsequent, NO Hodgdon Extreme powders can now be imported into any EU country, and that of course includes H4831 and H4831sc. None of the XC's 'usual suspects' obtained via the US (other than most Alliant grades, all Re series having been manufactured in EU countries) - IMR-4350 and 4831, H4350 / 4831 and sc etc have all lost their EU 'CE' product certification under revised health & safety regulations that were implemented last summer.

I just tested IMR 4350, not that it matters for this discussion. I just haven't been able to find any data on it so I looked at burn speed, bulk density and energy content and estimated.

I stopped at 39.5 grains under a 115 DTAC with no pressure signs and velocity hitting 3050 from a 25.5" barrel using Norma brass and F210's. Primer edges were still round and extraction was slick. Could probably get 3100 from 40 grains. Over 10 rounds my SD's were 7FPS.

IMR-4350 is a most excellent powder! It has produced stunning accuracy and great velocity in my 30-06s and my 6.5 creedmoor. It also has always been on the shelf at my gun store, which should never be taken for granted!

Hello Guys,

European shooter here. Sadly my provider for Hodgon powders will not be able to deliver H4350 or any other Hodgon powder the next year because of a potential brexit.
My plan was to use H4350 for my new 6XC shooting arround 105gr bullets. So as you might now the powders available here is not really the same as in the US. So im looking for someone who can recommend me some powder from manufactures like Vihtavuori, Norma, Reload swiss.

Best regards
Niels
Don't worry, you can go stright on to N150, use them gratfull
on a semicustom with Berger 90 gr and Lapua 100 grain.
I went sad and stopped few years ago to buy those unreasonable expensive and
some time scarse foreign powders.Vihtavouri and Swiss Reload are both great powders and the only choice to be available quickly in Europe.

I used Norma 203B @37.0 grains with 105 Hybrid Bergers, 107 Sierra MatchKings, and 110 Sierra MatchKings. Norma 203B is the Ticket!!! Hawk Hill 7.5 Twist Barrel, 26 inches, .010 off the Lands.
