6XC and VihtaVuori ?

My 6XC will be ready next week, I got eveything except powder.

I need a load with Vihtavuori powder since it's much easier to get than american powders.

I will be using the new Lapua Scenar 105gn L bullets.
I have Norma 6XC brass and CCI benchrest primers.

Barrel is Krieger HV 7.5 twist

I experimented with N540 one time and it was ok. I dont recall the specifics but its close to Varget, which will work too. You really want to get something in the H4350 burn range though and 560 might be it. Tried it, but dont recall what the results where as I always ended up right back with H4350. Sorry I cant be of more help.

N160 worked real well for me (around 40-40.5 gr) with the 105-108 gr bullets.

Hello!

Vv powder is common here in Sweden And N150 is considered THE Vv powder for the 6XC. I use Norma URP and shoot 105 ScenarL aswell.

N150 is the powder that I would be looking at. I am speaking from experience, I used to shoot the 240NMC and that is the powder that I used in that case, they are close in diamentions.

Agree with Froggy on this. I've used the 550 also, but would much prefer 150. WD

I'd give another vote for N160
I shoot a 6x47 which is of similar capacity to the XC
Like Robert I run 40-41 gns with a 105 Berger which give around 3050 fps out of a 30" barrel.

Ni60 is my go-to powder for several 6x47 rifles; also used it in the 6XC with very favorable results. Burning or flame temp of N160 is considerably lower than H4350, which should help bbl. life a bit.

the build got delayed but will be ready in about a month, I wanted to load the first batch, using N-150 and N-160, but I can't find any load data, where to begin and what max load is of each powder.

using scenar 105gr (6050) bullets, cci BR4 primers, Norma 6XC case.
barrel 28" 7.5 twist Krieger HV contour on a BAT action.

anyone got official load data from VihtaVuori or Lapua ?

I have VihtaVuori N135, N140, N150 and N165.

I have Lapua Scenar 105L, Berger 105gr and Berger 108gr

6XC Norma cases

CCI BR2 primers

now I need some loads... I've googled so much that I think Google is putting me on "high alert" they probably think I'm a hacker

still no results with VihtaVuori powders..

the barrel is 28" 7.5 twist Krieger.

anyone got min-max loads with these powders and a working load ?

some quickload info would be nice to

any powder, any bullet... just so I can start reloading....

The new Berger manual lists a starting load of 33.5gr N540 with a max load of 37.0gr, but that gives the lowest fill ratio of the powders listed. However based on what you've got, I would suggest trying N150. My 6XC project has ground to a halt at the minute, but H4350 is what I intend to try when I get it going.
