I like 7.5 or quicker. I have shot 6.7 and it worked fine also.
My tests with the 117 in a true 8 twist going 2200 fps put 10 round holes in the target at a 4000 ft Density Altitude, Kestrel 4000).
It took 30 minutes more elevation to hit the 1000 yd target with the lower starting,2200fps) velocity.

The 117 is approx 4% better than the 115.
Ths 117's will be available from SSS around the end of the month.

This 117 gr DTAC is a completely different bullet from the 115 DTAC. The plastic tip is aproximately .130" long. The overall length of the 117 DTAC is about .070" longer than the 115. It will require,for optimum accuracy) that the throat of the 6mm bore be about .040" longer,than the 115 throating) in order to keep the full diameter of the base of the bullet in front of the neck shoulder junction of the case,donut area). The 117 DTAC has a heavier jacket thickness at the base so as to be able to stand more pressure without losing accuracy. As stated in a previous post the 117's are going 3100 fps,max load)out of my 26.5" barrel, which is properly throated for the 117).

David or Kent or whomever? Will the 117 gr. bullet work in a standard throughted/chambered 6XC barrel? I have a Tubb gun, 6XC with the standard throught/chamber. The 115's shot and loaded into or off the lands just about perfect.

I guess the new 117 will have a much longer ogive to base dimention? Will I be able to load the 117's into or off the lands without seating too much of the bullet into the case? Is this new bullet worth a try ATC in my Tubb Gun? Do you think they would perform better than the 115's for me?
