6x47 Lapua varmint

Hey guys, I’m looking to build a 6x47 Lapua varmint rifle on a savage target action. Looking at a 10 twist Shilen barrel. I don’t think I want to shoot anything more than 88 grainers. I have a pretty sweet 20 practical I’ve built on a savage target action for varmints 100 to 300 yards. I think I’d like to have another rifle for the 400 to 600 range. Do you have any recommendations/experiences with this round? I’d like to see some groups and pet loads!

I owned one a few years ago, wish I still did! Great caliber and easy to load for. I will include data from my experience but DISCLAIMER...You must start below max and work up. What shot good in my rifle may blow yours up!!!!!
Wow! You have a lot of data there thanks!

Great round, have bin using it for 6 plus years. Have 2 rifles and 2 pistols in it. I use 105 hybrids in 8tw. Rifles and 7tw in pistols, shoot 1000yd. Steel plate matches with both and groundhogs. Furthest ghog was 1054yards , i have gotten rid of all my other cal. For the most part, the round is easy to load for and peterson makes 6x47 brass, it is excellent quality. 30in. On rifle barrels and 15 7/8 on pistols. Had a buddy that shot 88 and 87 bergers out of his 8tw with great results. Good luck.
