6x47 Lapua, My Turn.....

6x47 Lapua
28" Bartlein 1:8 Heavy Contour,.269 Neck
Savage LVPR Right Bolt, Left Port Farrell base
SharpShooter Supply LVT Stock with button-hook
Leupold 4.5-14 1",Have a 6.5-20 but couldn't find a local dealer with 30mm high rings in-stock).

I finally shot my gun today and I was impressed. I fired 5 shots to get it zeroed then cleaned it. Following the cleaning a little time here are the first two groups.

The first three shoots were so close and I got so nervious that I might actually have my first 5 shot one hole group that I totally blew the next two shots. I was please that the first load I tried actaully shot!! H4350 39.5; Berger 105; CCI-450.

NICE! Is that a fast twist barrel? You should try some N-550 powder, works great for me.

Judging from the load data on the target, I'd say the speeds are about 100 fps slow. But then again it could just be the chonograph. Was that shot @ 100 yds?

yes those were at 100yds. Here is todays groups Im a little concerned how the groups have opened so much at 200 yds. Any one have any thoughts? Is it me?

Here is the first test of some Sierra 95 Match with H4350.

Riemer, first thing I would try is slow the velocity down a little. The VLD bullets like between 2800 to 2950fps, this has been the case for me. If that does not work, try a different bullet. I bet if you slow the bullet down you will get the results your looking for. With 40grn of H4350, I am guessing your running close to 3000fps or faster. You could change powders, primers, seating depth ect, but I would back off on the powder charge and run the 105VLD at around 2800 to 2900 and see what happens.

The 107grn MK's like to be run at the higher velocities. Anyhow, I hope this helps. By the way, how fast are you running the 105 VLD's with 40grns of H4350.
