6x45 / 6mm 223 Varget Powder .

Does anyone have experience of using Varget in their 6x45 ?
Would greatly appreciate any advice / loads and just any info they could provide.

H335 has been my go to powder from day one. I tried others and kept going back. There is little if any data that is up to date, I would guess late 80’s-mid 90’s. Predator masters has large thread with loads guys have tried on 6-223. You can look at 6TCU data also. Pistol or rifle makes no difference.

I shoot four different 6X45 rifles and feel they give a great balance in performance.

I have only used w748 and N133

I used Varget and H4895 with good success in 70-80 gr bullet weights.
Loads get pretty crunchy.

25 grains Varget with a long loaded 107 SMK shoots very well out of my 26 inch 7.5 twist AR out to 600 yards which is as far as I have taken it.

Not sure of availability and $ of Varget in your area, but its not cheap where I am, so I save my Varget for hunting loads since its temperature insensitive. H335, BL-C(2), or CFE223 might be a good choice. Have never used Accurate 2200 (mainly because of availability), but lots of loads for it on Hodgdon site. StaBall Match is also temperature insensitive, but not much .223 case data yet. Varget burn rate near BL-C(2) might try low end of that and work up.

What was the velocity you were getting with this load? I have a 6x204 throated for 95gr SMK's, I always wondered what it would do with a 105 Berger or the 107 SMK.

I’m interested in the velocity that you get with the 95’s in your 6x204. I have the kids shoot 85 grain sierra’s with blc2 for their youth doe hunts.

I believe it was in the range of 2600 fps. Very happy with the results.
