And FS dies plus universal decapping die and then Mandrel neck expander.
I need a 6mm Creedmoor FL sizing die. I'd like one that already has a decapping pin for Lapua SRP flash holes. Does that narrow it down to only Whidden?
I wanted to reduce the decapping pin size on several Lee dies I had. First attempt using a file or sandpaper resulted in very little metal removal. Could see I wasn't going to accomplish my objective. Took the LCD mandrels, spun them in my drill, and with a sanding drum on my Dremel, only takes about a minute. Just keep the drum parallel with the pin if you want a consistent diameter of the finished product. After 20 or 30 minutes of sanding and filing I was sizing brass.
How did you put the mandrel in a drill chuck with the peened end not getting in the way? You have some sort of collet on the mandrel then put it all in the drill?I wanted to reduce the decapping pin size on several Lee dies I had. Why do Hornday dies seem to get low reviews? I borrowed one to try out while my Wilson arrives, and it's sizing things well. It's dimensionally a good fit, it's not oversizing any parts of my brass. The brass moves through the Hornday die smoothly and everything seems concentric. They're readily available and reasonably priced. Did I just get a good one?
due to some folks just having to slam something
This is what I did. I bought a set of Redding 6.5CM bushing dies and use them on both my 6 and 6.5 Creed. I have numerous sets of Redding bushing dies that I use for necked down versions of the same parent case the original die was intended for but with the appropriate bushing.Any 6.5 Creed bushing die from Redding/Forster/RCBS designed for full length sizing will work for 6mm with the appropriate 6mm bushings.
+1 on the Redding dies for the 6 creed. They are what I’m running currently for mine and I have had good resultsThis is what I did. Who's dies you choose to use is up to the individual. I tend to use mostly all Redding as that's what I prefer, others, may prefer a different companies dies.
