6mm brx loads

hi, I just got my 6brx together. During the firforming i had several pierced primers. i was using 30gn varget under a 105gn a-max, it resulted in nicely formed shoulders. i loaded up 20 rounds and tried it out. i loaded up 10 at 32.2 varget and 33gn varget under the 105 a-max. the lower had alot of cratering, but the 33 gave almost all pierced primers. i didnt realize they were actually pierced until i got home. the bullets were into the lands some but not hard. I am using cci 400's, would the wolf mag ones work better? the primers were the only signs of pressure i had. what can i change to help tthis primer issue? the rifle is a savage target action, douglas 1/8 30" barrel, and SSS stock all built and trued by SSS. thanks for any help in advance.

I am hoping the primers are just too soft. i ordered some srm wolf to see if it helps. would it help if i reduced firing pin pressure some?

I have a Savage Target action in BRX, with standard primers it will pierce regularly, switching to magnum or BR primers solved it.

The 400's are just to thin for high pressure loads.
Don't change your spring weight. Those Wolf magnums are hard as nails. They're gonna need a good whack.

Wolf small rifle magnum primers are made with brass [harder]
the non magnum are copper [less hard].

I dunno about CCI but I do know people who switched to Wolf SRM
because of piercing. Probably not all due to load pressure but to a combination of pressure and plain old soft copper getting whacked by a strong firing pin.

Look up the original John7/08 post on this forum about the two 6mmBRX.
You will find it quite informative.informativeness
