There are several other difference in benchrest. One is that the sides of the forearm can't be more than 1/2" tall. Most F-class stocks the sides of the forearm are 1". Also if you're going to shoot BR then you are handicapping yourself if you go with a 3" forearm instead of a 4". The Wheeler LRB is an outstanding BR stock and the one for sale on AS is a great deal. And finally you really need to decide what distance and weight class you are going to shoot. You can't shoot any of the short range BR competitions with a 17# gun. The weight of the stock is a big part of the weight factor.Pretty much the limiting factor in F/open for stocks is the 3" wide fore end. My stock is under that, so everything else is good to go. I just wanted a lower profile stock so I converted a RF/BR stock to a CF inlet and narrowed the fore end. Everything else is fine for F/open, for the most part.
