6mm BR brass

Last liar doesn't have a chance. I pretty sure the last 6br Lapua brass I bought was close to $80/box. Pre-plandemic. I think I bought 4 boxes for future needs and still unopened. And, I know someone will have a better deal than that.

That said, I buy and continue to buy as I see what my future needs will be. I do not want to not be able to shoot because of no ammo. Gun without ammo is a glorified garden stake.

I'm sitting on quite a bit of unfired gold and blue box 6BR. I couldn't sell it on this site cause I'd like to think I'm somewhat ethical. Doesn't mean I won't list it on typer sniper for stupid money. Really tempted! Did that awhile back with 105 hybrids when the sky was falling. It'll be back.

Euro optic has it on back order for $117 a box. But I'm not waiting until after an election year to hopefully get it before it's gone, even with it being on back order. Think it's time to make a switch to Peterson and stock up. I'd like to have another 30 and 6br built in the future. Just the thought of not being able to to go shoot em because I'm waiting on brass or can't find any isn't a pleasant thought.

I made up a couple of Peterson's to 30BR's to use as foulers and see how they held up. They're both well north of 30 firings each with zero issues.
Your word is good enough for me! Is the powder capacity less than Lapua? Or anything else you'd say you favor Lapua over?

Seems about the same. My fouler loads are 34.5 of H4198 and a 117 gr. on the 1.00" jackets. Several pals use the Peterson 6BR and 7BR cases for their 30BR's.
That's good to hear. I'm in the infancy of my accuracy/BR journey, if you can even call it that. I've spent countless hours on here and the benchrest forum just researching old posts, and to me it always seems like its Lapua or nothing/ you won't be competitive if not Lapua, so what's the point. Maybe times are changing.

Well, it doesn't get any better than Lapua....that's for sure. But there are cerainly options available now that weren't earlier. The Peterson 6BR and 7BR brass are good examples. Another example is powders. While H4198 remains the Gold Standard (if you have it), N120, N130, LT30 win tournaments every weekend. As always, the barrel will tell you what it wants.

The one basic that doesn't change is using wind flags. ;)

Good shootin' :) -Al

Good lord, that 6BR peterson brass is almost as cheap as my 7.7 Arisaka PPU. Time to order... I know I'll end up with a 7BR or a 30BR someday.
