30 Br brass

What is the best brass to use when forming a 30 br round, and what is the technique for forming the brass? I have been told that 6mm br Lapua brass works best.

6mmbr Lapua is definitely the way to go. If you check out the 30br cartridge guide on the side of the web page you'll get a great starting point for forming your brass. There are other methods out there for necking up besides the "one pass" type. Staged necking with increasingly larger mandrels, purchasing already necked up and turned brass from Ron Hoehn,there may be others, but this is the source I know), and there is another method of fireforming that I really don't feel comfortable describing having not attempted it myself. You'll need to neck turn the donut that is formed in the process...I use the K&M neck turning tool. Load up a moderate load of H4198 with the bullet of your choice on top just at the lands, and go to it.
