Anyone have any info or thoughts on which 6mm ARC chamber reamer to go with? Saami looks solid but I also see a DOD reamer print. Little bigger neck and a bit more freebore. Any info is good info in helping me decide on what to buy
Thanks
Lee

The neck isn't as forgiving as a ppc because it's a bit shorter, so getting the freebore length right for the bullets you plan to shoot is a bit more critical, but very doable. I run a .070 freebore in a 6 Grendel and it works well with MOST any 68gr bullets and is still enough for 80's and even some 105 class bt bullets. The grendel neck is a bit shorter still, than the arc, but close. If you plan on using heavy bullets, I'd go longer but the .070 is workable and lets me go all the way down to 68's.

I think the saami reamer at Manson has a .088 FB. Something close to that. PTG has one at .095 I think it was. They also have a DOD reamer with a .125FB.
I plan to shoot some 80’s and some 103’s. More importantly I want a reamer that will be wanted by my customers.
The .275 neck sounds pretty close with Alpha brass I think. Go short and throat it out if needed I guess.

Stick with the SAAMI reamer. You won’t want the freebore any longer and I wouldn’t want my neck stretching more than needed. I used it in my bolt gun barrel I got from Patriot Valley Arms and it works great with factory 108s and my hand loaded 110 ATips.
