Use 6br Rem rougher reamer for 6br Norma ?

Getting ready to chamber a Krieger to 6br Norma with a new PTG finish reamer, I was thinking of roughing it with a old 6br rem reamer, Maybe push it in 3/8" short, then the New finisher. Oh... have a solid pilot on the Rem reamer, should i cut the solid pilot off? Maybe have to bore it to clean ? I have bushings for the new PTG. Can anyone see any holes in this idea?? Pat

The only hole I see is if the old reamer is SAMMI and the new one is a match chamber...
Bore it out undersize and have right at it with the new reamer.....

All the chambers I have ever done are prebored undersize like Preacher said no need for a rougher reamer imo.

Preacher got me thinking. I did not use the rem reamer, I drilled with a .437 drill , bored it true, and did it with the finish reamer. all turned out well. Thanks for the input.
