6Bra with 90gr bt for 300yd

since you can get 6mm 80 gr bullets that are made as good as the 68s the game may be changing,,maybe not,,but may be
I never shot the 80 gr bullets in the PPC but a very good friend of mine did and found the weight vs velocity loss yielded no added benefit. I did try an 8 twist PPC with105 class bullets and that was not good.

12tw and some barts 80’s are a deadly combo from a grendel or straight br

I am shooting Bart’s 80’s in both a 12 twist BR and a 12 twist 6PPC.

I use 33.5 grns of Accurate 2495 in the BR, it goes a tad under 3300 FPS with .200 capability. I have shot it several times at 600, it’s not as bad out there as you would think. It I have shot several groups in the 1 1/2 inch range over a 4 flag setup.
The PPC, in my LV, uses 27.5 grns of 133. I am using my standard .050 throat reamer. It shoots pretty darned good.

but at 100/200/300, it will not do anything a standard PPC shooting 68 grn bullets won’t do.

that being said, the 80 grn Bart’s Dominator is a real live Benchrest Bullet.

I have been reading everything I can find on this point and @jackieschmidt pretty much sums up what I have read. Not much difference at 300 shooting an 80 and 68gr bullet. I still wonder if their could be some benefit gained shooting 90gr bullets at300 on rough days although there are not many choices out there.

How well you can tune the 90gr Bullet in your BRA would probably tell the story.
