6bra vs 6arc

For what its worth: I have three 6 BRs and two 6 BRAs . I built a 6 GT about four years ago and it is fast becoming my favorite cartridge. I have some 6X47 Lapuas that I really like very much. But again, the 6 GT is the rifle that pick up now when I go shooting. I really like that cartridge a lot. I've been using Alpha brass and it is very good . It may not be Lapua but when that brass become available, it will give a whole new life to the 6 GT.

I have 3 6bras and they are awesome! I have buddy with a 6gt and I will for sure have one, it’s a great round too. I guess I’m just not seeing the huge following behind the arc. Haven’t compared exactly but I’m pretty sure it’s a 6turbo that Robert Whitley developed years ago.

Hhmmm, I am shooting in a local league of 20 members. 33% of them are shooting some iteration of the 6BR. We compete at distances of 100/200/300yds and most 10 Rings are .5MOA in size.

I just started shooting a 6ARC this season and after two weeks am in the top 5 scorers.

I have talked extensively with these other shooters with the BR, BRA, Dashers I am shooting the same weight bullets and nearly identical speeds as they are..

I’m interested in knowing what projectiles and velocities.
I’ve recently acquired a 6mm ARC and have begun experimenting with different bullet weights, trying to find a good combo of velocity/ trajectory/ wind drift.

I'm using Berger Hybrid 105gr over LeverEvolution with Rem 7.5 primers and Starline brass. In my 28" barrel they are running about 2780fps.

Have also tried a ton of 105gr., Scenar, Barnes Match Burners and Hornady Match. Other powders I have tried have been Varget, A2460, BL-C2, TAC, Benchmark.

6arc is more or less a 6 PPC
Well, more. While the powder capacity is pretty much the same, the projectiles are heavier. I have been impressed recently - a new member turning up to the range with an ARC. Built on a Mini Howa with a Kreiger barrel - and it shoots! Performed well at 800yds I know that she is running Superformance powder and Hornady 108's. It isn't far behind my BR for speed or accuracy. I'm almost tempted to build on for fun, as I have a Grendel with a worn barrel in the safe.

Not to take away from the topic on the arc, but that’s exciting to hear of your thoughts on the GT.

Yea I have 1:8, 1:9, and a 1:12 6bra barrels and shoot everything from 70-105grainers. I don’t really have any interest in arc, I have some buddy’s shooting it and just don’t see any “next great thing” to it. I guess really we could say that about a lot of cartridges out there.
