6BR or 6BR Improved as a Tactical Round???

I got to thinking about the effectiveness as the 6BR as a tactical round. Seems like with the accuracy it is capable of and if loaded with heavier bullets it should do nicely. And the fact that the 6BRX can hold about 12% more powder, why is it never seen in tactical situations. I agree the .308 may be better suited with it's heavier bullets, but was curious how the 2 would compare side by side?

Any Opinions?

We're with you 100% and we've been thinking about working with www.SnipersHide.com on a Tactical project. A .308 can be very, very accurate, but we think, in the hands of most shooters, they'll end up with better groups shooting the lighter-recoiling 6BR. Don't think a BRX would work in a true police/Military situation as you need standardized factory loaded ammo. But we've actually started a conversation with Lapua in Finland about that. Imagine a 6mm Dasher, but with about 2.5 grain more capacity, and a longer neck. It would retain the small primer and still be smaller than the 6XC. That's just a pipe dream for now, but I know a lot of shooters that would be interested. The goal would be to drive the 115s at 3050 fps and the 105s at 3100+.

O.K. this is going to get me burned l know, but, about fifty years
ago l knew a man that was ex wwll sniper.he and four or five others worked on testing all of the new "at that time"guns for
police sniper work.l think it was in Cal.not sure,l did read
there report.after three monthes of testing they thought that
the best round for city use inside 200yds.was the 90 gr.bullet
from the 244rem.

Moderator! That is one bit of news that I really wish you would expound on. Having a case like that would be serendipity for 0 to 1000 yard shooters.
Could you please tell us all the details so far on this case and your talks with Lapua, you never know, there might be someone listening that could help if they were aware of all the details.
