6br in a AR15

Anyone have any info or have done this with good results? Just looking a for very accurate AR and seen where some people have done it but can’t find much info

What Paul said, above. A BR case, with its .473 rim diameter, doesn't leave enough material on the bolt face for reliable function. Lugs get sheared off and broken, with all sorts of resultant negative consequences.

Take a look at any of the 6mms based on the 6.5 Grendel case. There are many names to describe and market the same cartridge design - 6mm Grendel, 6mm AR, .243 LBC, etc. - but they are all pretty much the same thing. Any of them are capable of remarkable precision from a carefully configured AR system. I've seen a few and have had the opportunity to shoot a couple that will give a top-drawer bolt action rifle a run for its money.

10+ years ago there were a few folks building a 6BR on a AR-15 setup but there were known issues. As previously mentioned, bolt breakage and difficulty feeding on a consistent basis. There were a few anomolies out there. At one time, ARPerformance built a bolt and barrel extenstion that had a lot of meat on it and it would fit the AR-15 setup. From what I understand, the 6BR ran well with that heavy duty bolt and barrel extention with no issues as long as you did not try and push your loads.

As JLT mentioned, you should look at the 6.5 grendel based options out there. I have had both the 6mmAR and the 6FatRat. Both were great and the only issues I had was finding brass on occasion.

With all the 6mm ARs out there, I would look at the 6FatRat. accurateandreliablerifle.com

I built a few, and campaigned one about 20 years ago over the course for several years, I used a 7.62x39 bolt and used a form tool to rebate the case rims to .440, the chamber needed to be looser than what we normally use on a bolt gun, the rifles shot well but required lots of tuning and special gas port holes (and specially modified mags) to get reliable functioning, Not really worth the work IMHO, there are plenty of 6mm options for AR's nowadays that are much easier.
