The 60 gr Sierra Varminter is very good in my 6BR. May not expand but the 68 Gr. Barts Trophy Match is great. Everyone talks about how good the Bergers are. Never tried them.I am looking for a custom bullet to try in my 6BR. I have been using a 87 grain V-max. Ballistics have been great just trying to find a little more consistent accuracy.
I was also hoping to find something in the 80- 88 grain range.
I looked at the Barts Bullet but wasn’t sure if it was good for ground hog.
I have been hunting deer and varmints with Bart’s 68 Avenger and/or 80 gr Dominator for nearly a decade now.
If there’s anything finer, I won’t be looking for it.
Life is too short to shoot average (bad) bullets. Go custom.
They’re outstanding. I started with the 68 Avenger and have shot literally hundreds of coyotes, cats and deer with it. I built a 1:10 BR when we started hunting mule deer again (with the intention to shoot 87 VLDs) but the 80 Dominator shoots so well I just couldn’t NOT use it. I’ve shot a bunch of coyotes with the 80 so far, but I’ve been hunting deer with my bow so can’t report. I find coyotes a heck of a lot harder to put down than deer though, so it won’t be an issue.Barts 80 Gr Dominator is one of my favorite 6mm bullets, but I’ve never thought about using them on critters.
Ditto plus the 88g, 87g BergersSierra 85 hpbt or the Sierra 80 Blitz.
