I bought a new savage rifle to build a 6BR based budget build for shooting steel and paper targets from 300-600 yd. I was set on getting a Shilen or Criterion prefit in 6BRA from Northland Shooters Supply (can't beat their prices) but they don't offer 6BRA as a chamber option. They both have 6BR and 6 Dasher though. I plan on shooting the heavies (105-110 grain) in it. I wanted the higher velocity than the 6BR to determine hits on steel easier but was shying away from the Dasher because I keep hearing how it's on the limit for optimum case capacity. Would I notice a difference on impacts on steel with the Dasher over 6BR? Would there be any loss of easy tuneability or accuracy with the Dasher? Would the 6BRA be worth spending a couple hundred more by getting one done by a gunsmith? Thank you for any advice.
