600 yd ibs, what do I need to know.

I have been shooting Ubr and my gun and equipment meets there rules for sure but what about ibs? They have a couple 600 yd matches coming up near me I'd like to try. All I've seen is the weights for heavy gun vs light gun and caliber limitations what else do I need to know?

IBS matches are Benchrest matches like UBR. You will join the IBS and shoot. You can join at the match.
Course of fire 4, 5 shot targets. You will have time to sight in before each record target. You can shoot both LG and HG with a Light Gun.

Are there any particular rules regarding the gun you can use other than weight and caliber?

Look at the gun/bag contact rules.
I read the vast majority of the rule book and understand that the stock should be able to recoil freely without any downforce or rather anything preventing the stock to rise in the bags but in ubr we have forearm width limitations is there anything like that in IBS I read the rules and didn't see anything referring to forearm width

Most everyone uses a variable scope above 30x.
The vast majority of them being used are either the NF 12-42 x 56 or the new NF 15-55 x 52 Comp.

17-lb weight limit to LT-Gun <> no limit on HV-Gun
Muzzle-brakes, Tuners, Suppressors are legal
Any stock configuration
Any caliber smaller then .41
Pretty wide open rules with very few restrictions on the guns.

Good Luck...........

Ok. What power scope is the minimum recommended zoom for 600 yds? Sorry for all the dumb questions I would rather look dumb on here than show up unprepared.

Thank you sir that is what I was looking for. Are there any classes such as factory or modified or is it all for one?

LT-Gun class and HV-Gun class that are sanctioned IBS, and typically the only 2 classes shot at most ranges.

Any other class' that may be shot would be at club level. There are a few that do shoot a "Factory Class" as well, which rules and procedures are dependent to those clubs, that have no baring or outcome to the IBS match results.

If your gun fits into the HV class of benchrest as most ubr guns are then its legal to shoot as is. Put a 20moa base on there and take off
