IBS 600 Yd. Match at Cool Acres range, Swainsboro, GA Feb. 17 - 18

Sure impressed with the light gun scores shot on Sunday.

To me If I shoot at a deer and hit the tree behind it, then shoot four more times into the same spot on that tree, I did not get the deer. Just makes sense to me that hitting the center of the target is difficult and holds my esteem.

Sure like those high scores. Quite a feat to me. Score sheets sure show lots of shooters and quality results. Some of us from Manatee hope to make it there in May. Not sure one will be me because I have some family health issues I need to stay and attend to but sure would like to share that experience.

Hope everyone got hope safe and sound . I know I have said it a thousand times and you are probably tired of it but we want to Thank everyone that came out this weekend to Match 1 and 2 of the GA 600 IBS Benchrest at Cool Acres Sporting Camp in Swainsboro Ga. The weather was great the wind was blowing to say the least on Saturday and then on Sunday wind was gone so was the sun but conditions where great and of course we even had a little rain. Shooters got to experience about everything Cool Acres has to offer except for a little more Mirage but hey she can’t let all her tricks out at once .
The shooters showed up with the best they had as well as can be seen in results posted above (Thanks again Tom for posting them again for me so everyone could read didn’t have a lot of edit time).
It was one of the most competive events I have been apart of in Long Range shooting but it was also the best time I have ever had at a event. When me and Donna decided we would do this our goals where set high that we would have a good time first ,run a fair match ,listen to the shooter , have more fun, shoot the best we could , listen to the shooters and have more fun, promote Cool Acres Range as much as possible for all its events and when it was over that the shooters said they had fun and enjoyed the weekend no matter if they shot good or bad.
I think we did just that and to each shooter that attended I hope you tell everyone how much fun you had this weekend .
I know a couple of shooters that where in such a hurry to come see us the friendly state patrol in a couple states suggested that they slow down .
I know this is a long post but I want each shooter that came to know how much me , Donna and everyone at Cool Acres appreciate you coming this weekend and we hope to see you again at the 1000 and 600 Yard events as well as the Outlaw Benchrest events .
Also want to give a shout out to the shooters from Georgia Southern shooting team that came out and shot as well as other team members that came and watched. You are a first class deal and very fine young men and women that will grow the shooting sport .

PS Just so everyone knows Ray shot the Black gun and TJ found out what fruit Georgia is famous for . Grape is good to and that’s all I’m going to say about that.

A great match and a perfect time to take a break from winter weather! Between Ray Bowman, Mike Wilson, TJ (Tracy) Stroop, Mike Moses and Eric Dove there was never a dull moment!
