I've been fighting a high ES/SD issue more or less since I started reloading for this thing.

Last night, I think I may have the root cause addressed. The volume of reloading that I do for this rifle is probably 20x's higher than any of my other rifles. Because of this, I believe I have been too hasty in my powder charge measurements.
I was loading for my hunting rifle last night and while fine tuning the charge on my 5-0-5 balance, I noticed that there is a weird and inconsistent "dwell" that lasts for 2-3 seconds before the balance beam moves again and becomes totally stationary. Sometimes the dwell is high, sometimes it is low of the target. When reloading for the SLR, I made my adjustments with a trickler during this dwell.
Unfortunately, I believe the barrel is shot out so I probably won't be able to confirm my suspicions until I have it rebarreled but I believe this to be at least have been partially contributing to the problem.
Is there a better (efficient) method of dropping accurate powder charges for high-volume reloading?
Thanks.
