mr. big, please explain yourself.be real careful shooting those 3400 fps loads with RL26 in a 243,,get your bbl hot and leave a round in the chamber a couple minutes and you may run into problems,,

I like the info you posted. And am curios did you try a 3350 or 3300 node? I have been trying to find some rl26 for my 243ai but cant find it anywhere. Hopefully it will be available again soon.I worked a pretty accurate load with RL 26 and the 105 VLD H from a 28 inch 8 twist Krieger on a Tac 30 action at 3400 fps,,it shot great 3 and 5 shot groups,,I shot a 20 shot string at 1,000 yards to see how it would hold up and at shot 12-13 the bolt was getting very hard and shot 15 and 16 both had the primer come out of the case on extraction,,I assumed that the heat from the chamber was causing the problem and backed down to 3200 fps and didnt have any problems but was not as accurate as the 41.5 gr H4350 load at 3200 fps so I just shoot that,,
you might be OK with the fast node and RL26 in a hunting rifle or something that only requires a couple shots but it was not for me in sustained shooting with a hot rifle,,it may work fine in your rifle but a 105 at 3400 is a hot load from a 243 I dont care what powder you are using ,,
There is a .224 TTH from a Texas writer built on the 6mm Rem. case. I checked The PTG website and didn't see a reference for the 6mm version but that may not be the final answer. There are several versions of the 6mm Rem. with various shoulder angles and improvements in the body taper. GAP has one named the 6mm Crusader which has a 32 degree shoulder and an improved body taper yielding about 61.0 grains of water capacity. There is no change in the neck length. Is this about the same as the 6TTH? 6mm Texas Trophy Hunter from a Texas writer...

Thanks again for the info. I am real curios as to what kind of results I can get with my 243ai and rl26.in my bbl the accuracy with RL 26 was at 3200ish and 3400ish and at 3200 my H4350 load shoots better and I know how it shoots well enough that I decided to just run with that and havent done any more tests with any other powders,,
IMO the straight 243 Win is very underrated caliber,,the 105-115 class bullets at 3200 fps is a pretty stout load that shoots very well in the conditions I encounter most,,
