6 MM BR and 75 VMax

Have new Bat action with Krieger 8 twist barrel and am shooting .1 to .3 groups @ 100yds using 70, 74 and 80 Berger's .010 into land with N135 and Varget.
But and shooting .5 to .8 groups with 75 VMax with N135 and Varget and .010 into lands and horizontal.
Any help would be nice?

dawell, you may have to seat that bullet deeper to get it to shoot. And, it may have to go deeper than .015 or .020 off the lands to make it shoot accurate. Just a suggestion. Bill

Well, you might want to check all your screws and make sure all that is good to go. But, then again some rifles have a way of letting you know that it don't like a particular bullet as much so as others. Bill

I just worked up a load for my Hart barrel 1:8 twist. I am shooting
32.5 gr. of Varget with the 75 gr. VMAX.
The bet group I shot was under 1/2" at 200 from a rickety bench in a 5mph wind.
Good luck.

With an 8-twist PacNor 6BR I had same experience re 80gr Bergers vs. 75 V-Max. Bergers went into tight little knots, high ones, low twos), while the V-Max shot .5-.7" groups. I measured some of the V-Max bullets and they were NOT very consistent in diameter and/or bearing surface.

I concluded that the Bergers were just better bullets and the groups reflected that. However, in fairness, many guys get good results with the 75 V-Max.Maybe they would work better jumped. I only tried the V-Max .008 and .015 into the lands.
